Mirenesse Shona Collection + Brow Sculptor Review + Swatches

I have been eyeing Mirenesse's Shona Collection since it was launched. There's something about ombre sticks that makes my heart throb. This collection is limited edition with original art designed by Australian Artist - Shona. The products are 100% cruelty free.

Today we will go through the products I have been trying from Mirenesse x Shona, I have tried these products for the last few months and ready to now give my verdict. If you'd like to know, read on.

MIRENESSE 1 STEP CONTOUR STICK 

This was one of my favourite products trialled from this lot, I was very hesitant at first but once you know where to draw your lines it is the most simple contour product a girl can ask for. The stick is super creamy and sits on top of your foundation nicely. The application will not shift your foundation and you will be able to blend the contour out with absolute ease. I like to use a dense brush. The highlighter is not as visible. But if you are looking for a natural easy cream contour, I highly recommend this!

MIRENESSE SHONA EYE ART OMBRE STICK IN PARADISE DREAM AND TU TU HOT

When I first saw these Shona eye art sticks I was very curious and wondered how they would work! I have used them quite a few times now and found the stick to work ok with the darker colours closer to my lashes and the lighter colour on my lids. The application is quite easy, two clean sweeps. Personally, I think they would work better for people with more eye lid space than hooded eye lids. However... if I take a brush to slightly blend the colours out and smoke the darker colour out a little, it actually looks decent. The liner colour will stick to your lids so make sure you blend quickly. If your lids are oily like mine, use a primer otherwise this will crease after a few hours.  

MIRENESSE TOUCH UP BROW SCULPTOR

I've really started to focus on my brows more now, the automatic pencil end of this brow sculptor is absolutely perfect. The formula is hard, not creamy which is exactly what I have been looking for. The shade is universal and suits my black brows really well. You can draw individual brows and adjust the colour by using slight pressure when applying. Even though I have black eye brows, I found light strokes with this to work well. The mascara end of the sculptor is a light brown shade and to be honest, I was very scared but it actually didn't make my brows look lighter. If anything, it did really well at making my brows look fluffy and stay fluffy throughout the day!

HOT OR NOT: MIRENESSE THERMAL WRAP N REPAIR HAIR TREATMENT

Hair is not my strong point, the most I would usually do is shampoo... maybe condition, if I can be bothered. My mum gave me a thick head of shiny black hair and I often feel that there was no need to do anything else than to wash it. I was recently sent a set of Mirenesse Thermal Wrap n Repair Hair Treatment. I am not usually too enthusiastic when it comes to hair products, bit this product had me curious.

After speaking to a blogger friend who had used this type of hair treatment previously and found it to be good, I decided to give it a go.

Before my verdict... let's look at the claims:

• Smooths and softens with organic manuka honey
• Lotus flower infusion for glossy locks
• Strengthens with organic coconut oil 
• Anagain hair growth molecule fights hair loss
• Detangles with organic Argan Oil
• Hydrolysed silk and ceramides condition and Repair

PRICE: $29 for a 3 piece set

MY VERDICT

• Application: I unwrapped the crap, tried to put as much hair as I could onto the top of my head to put the cap on then proceeded to tuck any stray hairs into the cap. My hair is short so it was not difficult. However, I can see how this may be a difficult task for someone with long and stubborn hair. 
• The Process: Once the cap was on, I massaged as per instructions and left the cap on for 20 minutes. 
• Cap off: I took the cap off and jumped back into the shower to give my hair a good rinse. My hair smelt great and felt realllllllly soft. 
• The following day: My hair was literally glowing with shine. My hair is usually pretty shiny but I personally haven't seen it this shiny. It still smelt fantastic. I still noticed a few fly aways but my hair was so soft and smooth. 
• 2 days later: Hair still looked, smelt and felt as good as it did on the following day. My hair felt really clean, I usually wash my hair every second day but because it felt so clean I didn't wash it until the FOURTH day. I don't if that's what the mask is suppose to do or if it's just my hair! 
• Would I use it again? Yes, definitely. My only qualm is that I have to jump out of the shower after I shampoo my hair to put the cap back on. I probably would use it for an event - a wedding (I think I'll have quite a few of those coming up) or a special event where I want my hair to be beautifully blinding. I can't see it as something I would use on a weekly basis because I am lazy! But I was amazed with the results and surprised by how much I liked it. If you spend a lot of time on your hair, you can probably replace one of your treatments with Mirenesse's thermal hair mask. I've used a few different products before but this one seemed to have given the most "WOW' result thus far.

My Mini Makeup and Skincare Haul

 I have been generally good for the past 2 years and have not "hauled" since I've started my beauty box subscriptions (only Lust Have It! at the moment).

I had read mixed reviews when it comes to Mirenesse, some swear by it and others found their products/service mildly disappointing. I was later notified of a sale on catchoftheday.com.au, I spent 2 hours browsing the site... adding and deleting items from my cart, attempting to rationalise with myself, figuring out reasons why I need these extra products... Eventually my logical side caved and I put through a few items.

Everything came to about $42, free postage - courier with tracking. I received my package a week later.

There were a few 3 packs on Catch of the Day. I decided to pick up the "Natural" pack because the colours seemed like it would suit warm skin tones.

How pretty are the packaging?! It reminds me of Sailor Moon's wand. 

Elizabeth Arden Deep Cleansing Lotion

This was just a product to get me over the line for free postage. However, I did need a  gentle deep cleansing lotion and I've had relatively positive experience with Elizabeth Arden.

Face of Australia Dark Side - Jafar 

$3.95 @ Priceline

I saw FOA's new nail polish range on a few blogs and I fell in love with Jafar (I was a huge Aladdin fan when I was a little). I trekked through 3 different Priceline stores in the City to find this baby! I very rarely ever purchase nail polish, but at $3.95 a pop (FOA had 20% off), I just could not resist this perfect winter shade!
