Swapping my makeup around during summer is inevitable - especially to avoid the whole face melting scenario.
Alright let's break it down!
I've been using SunSense Invisible Tint Finish as my base, it's got SPF 50 (with UVA and UVB protection) - suited to the current scorcher of a summer! It claims to be a matte, oil free product. I have dry skin and my skin gets a tiny bit oily after applying. I wouldn't recommend this for oily skin. This will not act as a foundation, it covers nothing.
Which is why I hide my blemishes, dark circles and what not with my Revlon Age Defying Concealer I've had this concealer for dragon years.
To minimise the shine and oiliness from the tint, I dust a think layer of Bobbi Brown Sheer Pressed Powder.
Brush some Maybelline Dream Mousse Shadow in Suede Sensation on both my lids - this shadow is definitely not my favourite, it's not very pigmented... but it's not "heavy", doesn't seem to crease or melt.
For cheeks I use BYS Blusher and Bronzer, gorgeous mosaic with mild shimmer. Since I have dry skin, I love looking shiny (not sparkling). I tend to stay away from anything with shimmer on my cheeks, but it's look-able with a tan during summer. It'll give you a nice dewy glow.
Some Palmer's Suncreen Stick for extra lip protection!
One thing I like about summer is that I get to wear these floppy sun hats ^_^
Do you change your makeup during summer? What's your summer makeup routine?

I've used that tinted moisturiser before too! But I have an oily face so that didn't work quite well for me, however my mum loves it cos she has dry skin hehe! I probably am the laziest person, my makeup is the same all year around xD but lately I am using Innisfree's no sebum lotion and bb cream which really helps to combat my oily skin as well as those break outs which I forgot to reply you in my email hehe! <33
ReplyDeleteThanks lovely! ^_^ I'll reply to your email tomorrow!
DeleteHasn't it been hot! I do switch my products around, use a lot more matte powder, to avoid the dreaded face melt! :) I love your hat!
ReplyDeleteThanks Loz! ^_^
DeleteI love your simple make up routine, Lily. I prefer to wear BB cream instead of foundation in summer, it doesn't slide off my skin so much, lol.
ReplyDeleteI agree! BB cream is much better for summer ^_^
DeleteThat cream eyeshadow looks perfect for summer! I'd put it at the same level as my Maybelline color tattoo shadow, the bronze shade one! I've actually hit the bottom on it! And that bronzer looks sooo beautiful! I love the mix of colors!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, congrats on hitting bottom!!! I've never hit bottom on any cheek products yet!
DeleteTinted moisturisers never work for me, but the BYS bronzer looks amazebeans!
ReplyDeleteIt's so pretty, great price too ^_^
DeleteI love lighter makeup in the summertime because it's way more comfortable to wear and less chance to melt off, haha! I love cream shadows swept across the lid for summer, so quick and easy and really relaxed looking too!
ReplyDeleteMhm! Powder shadow ends up creasing in the corner of my lids!
DeleteTruth does not change my makeup in summer, say if I change my makeup but not because it is summer because where I live is always summer, change my makeup products because I want to try other good and new.
ReplyDeleteWhere do you live lovely?
DeleteIs the Revlon concealer a cream or powder form? I love floppy hats for summer! As far as my summer makeup routine, it usually just involves more waterproof products and fewer powdery ones.
ReplyDeleteIt's a creamy concealer :)
DeleteI just got an even floppier hat hehe!
I love your SPF! 50! 15 just isn't cutting it for me anymore as a moisturiser, sadly. I also love how you look in that hat - they look really odd on me! I do use quite a bit of makeup finishing spray - it's amazing for keeping my face on!
ReplyDeleteI used all SPF 15s last summer and I ended up gathering a colony of freckles on my face. SPF 50 works much better! OH yes!! I almost forgot about finishing spray! Thanks for reminding!!
DeleteWhat a lovely natural look for summer :) aren't you a good girl wearing sunscreen on your face! Can't say I do that often, oops. That BYS bronzer looks really pretty!
