Get Ready with Veet: Hairy Solutions

During winter, I liked to ensure to keep warm at all times, whether it means to wear more clothes, drink more hot chocolate or grow my hair out like a woolly mammoth. We finally caught some generous glimpse of sun in the past few weeks, so it's time to shed the fur!

My partner were I are due for a day out on the weekend, we thought we'd frock up as we plan to exit our caveman/woman dungeon to face civilisation. Thankfully Veet prepped us well!

Luckily, I don't have much to wax on my face and would usually just pluck a few stray eye brows here and there. My partner on the other hand, requires great attention to his brows.

Since it's still relatively chilly, we realised that rubbing the wax strips between our hands is inadequate, instead, we placed the strip an arm's length away from our little heater to help prep the wax. Application was simple and all the unwanted hair came out with ease.
For brow shaping, you can cut the strips into even smaller pieces. Once all the unwanted hair was out, the perfect finish wipes assisted with ridding any left over sticky residual and calmed the skin.

The last time I waxed my legs, I was a wee teenager at my friend's house, she thought it would be entertaining to wax my legs. I am not sure what she did, but I ended up with bruises all over my legs. I've been a shaver and a cream user ever since. This was 10 years ago. Last weekend, I decided it was finally time to face my fear.

These wax strips definitely had a good grip of all the hairs on my legs, I was overly enthusiastic and decided to cover my leg with wax strips, it was all fun and games until it was time to rip the strips off.

I can wax my arm pits with no issues and minor pain because I did it so often, my legs on the other hand, were quite sensitive due to a lack of hair being waxed in the past 10 years. I have to admit it was relatively painful for us non-frequent waxers.

However, once all the wax strips were off, my legs were silky smooth... the type of silky smooth that lasted for days and unable to be achieved from shaving. I will definitely turn to wax strips for quick and fault free hair removal.

After my waxing expedition, I felt that cream may suit me better until I become more accustom to the process of waxing. Waxing is definitely a faster and more time efficient solution. If I were going to an event the following day and had adequate amount of time to dance to the radio, cream would be an excellent option. It's gentle and washes off with ease.

Below is a short clip of the wax strips in action, I muted the sound and added the intro to Boys of Summer due to unnecessary screaming on my part. Having said that.. I'm still in awe as to how smooth my legs feel after 5 days! Sorry about the film quality... but you can see the colour difference when the wax strip was removed from my leg :)

  1. My preferred hair removal is definitely waxing, but sometimes you don't have time, so i always shave! Veet is a great brand for wax strips though!
