Eye of Horus Sahara Nude and Selenite White Goddess Pencils

Eye of Horus has recently launched two new Goddess Pencil eyeliners, Sahara Nude and Selenite White, lucky for us, they have both landed at The Beaute Boutique! If you have read my previous reviews on a bunch of other goodies from Eye of Horus (click here) you will know that I am a big fan of EOH fan.

Sahara Nude can be used to make your eyes appear naturally larger, more awake and open when applied to the waterline. This gorgeous liner can also be used as a concealer or an eyelid primer. Selenite White is a more dramatic enhancer that will illuminate your eyes when applied around the inner tear ducts, inner third of the lower lash line or along waterlines. This beautiful goddess like shade can also be used as a regular eyeliner substituting your usual darker liner for a change, or alongside your black liner for a mod look.

As always, Goddess pencils contain Organic Moringa Oil, they are creamy, water resistant, smudge proof and long wearing. Both products are versatile, cruelty and paraben free.

Eye of Horus Goddess Pencils are always of high quality, extremely pigmented, smooth and long lasting.

Personally I prefer Sahara Nude as an eyelid primer, mainly because my waterline is not very pigmented to begin with and that I just generally dislike applying makeup to my waterline, how do you even clean that area?! - it's also a feeling I just can't shake ... BUT it's not a review unless I've tested the products for it's purpose, hence, I went ahead and water-lined. I did notice quite a significant difference and my eyes looked instantly more awake. When applied as a primer to my lids, it increased the pigmentation and longevity of my eye-shadows.

I have been using Selenite White around the eye duct area and along the inner bottom third of my lash line for a doe-eyed effect, it also contrasts nicely on my olive skin. As long as I don't rub my eyes, Selenite White will stay put.

Sahara Nude is a pure matte nude liner, while Selenite White possess a very slight shimmer. Both pencils can also be used to highlight brow bones.

Before and After Photos

For my Before and After pictures, I decided to apply the Goddess pencils on my everyday eyes aka barely any makeup eye, this was chosen so I can see the true effect of the Goddess pencils... and boy was I pleased. Eye of Horus Goddess Pencils are now available from The Beaute Boutique for $30 each.

- SPRING 2015 -

Spring is a loveable month where the weather is just right for a capped sleeves knit wear. I don't usually categorise colours by seasons and often wear black and greys all year round. Autumn is my preferred season as I am more attracted to warmer colours than cool tones.

My boyfriend has been gifting me coloured clothing for the past few year in attempt to make me wear more colours. Well... it worked. However, I still dress like Rex Hunt at home.

Fashion is not my forte.. I'm actually quite daggy.. but I'm trying! I've been inspired to introduce more fashion to my blog thanks to Lisa @ This Damsel Loves for posting up incredible fashion/lifestyle inspos and Simply_Kenna a Youtuber I recently discovered who possess a sense of style and fashion I can only wish I had.

Here's a look into my spring picks..

A soft aqua top by Review Australia (one of my favourite clothing stores) some gorgeous pink Lady Jayne hair ties alongside a pair of the cutest flats and some playful cherry blossom beaded necklace from a thrift store.

Spring is the perfect time for "fresh" looking make up. I like to keep my lip moist with Carmex, it is perfect for those who prefer sheer lips and Korres lip butter is my go-to lip product for a hint of colour.

In order for me to stop using deep purple eyeshadows I decided to pick out something that's quite the contrary, but also an eyeshadow that I adore, Rich List by Marsk is an amazing gold eyeshadow that can be worn alone or used in conjunction with other eyeshadows to add depth. I'd usually pick mascara over eyeliner during Spring, but I couldn't look past one of the most gorgeous eyeliner by Eye of Hours in Charcoal Obsidian, it's a grey liner with sparkles!!

As for blush... it just had to be Canmake ... it's a no brainer, this blush has spring written all over it.

Two options for nails - OPI's Is Mai Tai?  for colour lovers or Revitanail's Graphite  if you are having trouble parting from darker colours like me.

What are your Spring picks this year?

Brand Focus: Eye of Horus

My love for Eye of Horus sprouted when I received my first EOH eyeliner in Bronze Amulet whilst I was subscribed to Bellabox. It quickly became my favourite eyeliner which I treasured and used for special occasions. Thanks to The Beaute Boutique, I now have the opportunity to test out some other EOH products that I've been eye-ing for a long time!

 Liquid Define - Black $30

Eyeliners are one of the only makeup items I alternate on a regular basis. There was a time I reached for gel liners and gel liners only, but when I got my first liquid liner, I couldn't put it down. For the past few months I've been reaching for pencil liners due to my morning wreck. If cosmetics were animals, Liquid liner would be an endangered specie among my stash.

Since I've tried this product, it's the only thing I've been reaching for. The felt tip makes it easy to use and apply, you'll be able to create your perfect wing with absolute ease. It dries like Flash Gordon and will not leave stains on hooded lids. Most importantly, it did not tranfer onto my lids at the end of the day. I love love love love this liquid liner!!!

Goddess Mascara - Black $35

This was worn for a good 7 hours and I did not notice any smudging, my eyes are quite watery and most non-waterproof mascaras would smudge when applied to my lower lashes. I did not experience any issues with this mascara. As we all know, my lashes are naturally straight and difficult to curl unless it's a waterproof mascara it'll weigh my lashes down. My lashes did lose it's curl after 15 minutes, no surprises there - it's genetic. If you have a look at the swatch photos below, you'll notice that this mascara does a fab job at lengthening (check the bottom lashes). The brush is perfect for reaching smaller lashes and the formula is non-clumping. I would highly recommend this for everyday wear, it will look amazing on girls or boys with naturally curly lashes.

Goddess Pencils - Nubian Brown, Jewel Amethyst, Charcoal Obsidian
 $30

EOH pencil liners are my all time favourite. They are creamy, pigmented, easy to apply, stays all day, smudgable but does not transfer or crease and just overall god damn beautiful. Nubian brown is a solid brown while Jewel Amethyst and Charcoal Obsidian contains a little bit of shimmer. I personally feel comfortable wearing any of the 3 shades on a day to day basis.

As I mentioned at the beginning of the post, these products were kindly provided by The Beaute Boutique, a humble online boutique - I am a huge advocate for local and small businesses, if you are looking to stock up on some Eye of Horus products you know where to go.

For "deals" and gift with purchase etc, make sure you either follow The Beaute Boutique on Facebook or Instagram, Sofia (the MUA behind the business) is always putting up generous offers. Let me just snow ball a little further... Sofia is also an amazing MUA, she does wedding hair & makeup, plus she has a ton of experience (makeup for X Factor Australia, featured in Harpers Bazaar, Grease: The Musical etc).

Personally, I feel Eye of Horus products are of high quality, their packaging is elegant, prices are decent, their products are extremely under-rated and deserves more praise + hype.

Beauty Favourites All Star

Initially, I was planning to call this post, "My Favourite Beauty Products of All Time".

That just reminded me of Kanye West telling the whole world how Beyonce has one of the best music videos of ALL TIME. It'll ring in your head like a hangover, so I decided to change the title to "All Star".

I guess this is a little more "high end", I do have a range of budget beauty products I love and adore, but I'm still trying to build my list, so I'll save that for another time.

I am a picky person and it takes a lot for me to re-purchase, so I don't have enough favourites to make monthly posts, but here's a handful of products I swear by/use religiously for the past year or five..

Dolly Wink Volume Mascara is a new-comer, I purchased this mascara out of curiosity while I was in Japan. It ended up being my favourite waterproof mascara. It will lengthen, thicken and curl. The wand is designed to reach smaller lashes. I will have a separate review up shortly.

Eye of Horus Eyeliner is incredible. I've tried too many eyeliners that smudged all over my hooded lids. When I received this from one of the beauty boxes, I was gobsmacked. Needless to say, the colour is gorgeous, the consistency is smooth and won't tug at your lids. Most importantly, it stayed put, no more smudging! I anticipate to try their mascara, I heard it's equally incredible. See my previous review here

Shiseido Eyelash Curler. I have been using this curler for the past 5 years and it had never failed me. It will reach most hard to reach lashes and dare I say, designed for short lashes and almond/hooded eyes. I'll have a post dedicated to battling out Shiseido VS Shu Uemura curlers in the upcoming weeks.

Shiseido Foundation Brush. I know, I know, there's a couple of Shiseido products in this post. I previously worked for Shiseido, however, this doesn't skew my view. There are good and bad products in each brand, I just happened to be lucky enough to test and try all their beauty products during my time there. I've tried a few brushes and have experienced a significant amount of fall outs, this brush is excellent in the sense that you will so nil to minimal fall out and it will work with pretty much all types of base. Cream, liquid, powder, BB creams... etc.. with the exception of mineral foundations, which I don't use too much because it gets too messy and I'm always in a hurry. You will receive an even spread with no brush marks.

Bobbi Brown Bronzer is something I discovered while I was in Hong Kong. My aim was to purchase as much Chanel, Dior and Guerlain products as my wallet can possibly allow... but I ended up getting Bobbi Brown products. This bronzer is perfect for my olive skin, my previous Bourjois bronzer made me look dirty. This is excellent for contour, cheeks and even as an eye shadow. See my detailed review here

I went to the Clinique counter for a free makeover and a foundation sample. I told the consultant about my pores and she gave me a generous sample of Clinique Pore Refining Solutions Foundation. I took it home, didn't have very high hopes about it and used it a week later. It worked really well with my skin and evened out my skin tone without clogging my pores. Apparently my pores will become less visible as I continue to use it.. I haven't got to that stage yet, but it's a great instant cover up.

The Giorgio Armani lipstick is another accidental encounter. I wanted to get a MAC lipstick, I stood around their counter for a good 10 minutes waiting for someone to help me and got ignored. Giorgio Armani just happened to be right next door, the consultant was brilliant and treated me like a decent human being. This product was purchased partially based on excellent customer service and partially based on quality and texture. Creamy, velvety with sleek packaging.. What more can a girl as for?

Korres Lip Butter reigned supreme within the blogosphere a couple of years back. I was in search for a lip product that was actually effective (Unfortunately, EOS did not work for my chapped lips). This is my go-to lip product, it is soft, creamy, sheer and treats my chapped lips well. Great for everyday wear if you want a light tint on your lips.

Verdict

This product glides on beautifully, doesn't tug on my lids. I love the colour, it's much more natural and subtle than the usual black.

I've been trialing cream, gel, powder, liquid and pencil. So far, every one of them creased or smudged.

This is the first liner I've used that didn't go anywhere!!! It's definitely long lasting.

I have sensitive eyes, experienced no irritations. I think I found my favourite eyeliner!!!!!!!!!!
Another fantastic Australia brand! Great price and value for money!

Re-purchase?

Definitely! I'm keen to try out more products from Eye of Horus, probably the mascara next :D
