EVENT: Benefit Cosmetics Magical Brow Collection Launch

Hello my lovelies!

I was honoured to be able to celebrate the launch of Benefit's 9 spanking new products recently! The party was held at Crystal Bar, Martin Place. We were greeted by Benebabes with bunny ears and magical wands! I have never attended an event where I felt so welcome and at home, everyone from Benefit spoke to me as if we were old friends, it made menall warm and fuzzy, I felt so loved and comfortable (hence had the best night)!

There were so many different unique elements to the event, however the ultimate theme of the evening is "Magic" as our brows are magically transformed with Benefit's new brow products. The magic was definitely there, from a GIF booth, contortionist to face readers and a heck of a magic show following by the product showcase.

This is the first time I have ever witnessed someone walking on champagne bottles, in platform shoes, WHILST holding/drinking a glass of champagne poured from the bottle (which were all empty by the way).

I also spotted Wengie and decided to get happy snap with her below!

We waited in line for the face reader but never quite got there. The magic show happened and the products were revealed. We were excited to the point we hopped out of line to have a play with the products.

I have ever been much of a brow person.... until now.
One of the Bene-Babes applied some Gimme Brow on me and I was SOLD. My brows looked natural and full, I didn't look angry at all! Now I can see why and how Gimme Brow is such a must have among my friends and colleagues.

And to polish off the post with one of my food pic, a couple of GIFs from the GIF booth :)

Ladies, get your brows ready for this jelly!!! Mark your calendar and save the date, all 9 products to hit the stores on 22 July!

*Lily not Louise attended this event as a guest of Benefit Cosmetics Australia, A MASSIVE thanks for having me! Love love love, endless love!

Review: Benefit They're Real Mascara

It's been a while since I've been on Blogspot, had some stuff happening at home, now I'm trying hard to catch up with everyone's posts!

I received a couple of questions regarding the mascara I was using in my Canmake Palette Review with the following picture.

Well... I thought I'd might as well review the mascara ;)

Would you guys have guessed it was Benefit's They're Real?

Verdict

Pros
  • I've heard many raves and positive reviews for this product... it's not my HG smudge proof mascara (will review it later) but it's one of the better ones. I love the formula. I have watery eyes and I always get mascara residues transferred to my under eyes. This mascara's been quite good I've been using it everyday and have observed very minor smudges.
  • You don't need to layer, a generous coat will leave with nice looking lashes.
  • Holds curls and light weight.
Cons
  • Is it just me or does the brush look scary? The tip looks like a medieval spiked flail. The tip of the mascara doesn't work so well for me. I assume that it was designed for bottom lashes and hard to reach places, unfortunately, it's a little counter intuitive as you pull the brush out from the container, more product will sit at the tip of the brush.... having longer bristles enables more product to sit between bristles. As a result, it tends to dispense too much product onto my lashes. It takes a while for me to comb the lashes and even everything out.
  • As much as I love smudge proof mascaras, they are difficult to remove, I've been using Mary Kay's eye makeup remover, it's been working well but I find a lot of my lashes falling out.

Ok guys, if you haven't seen this Muppet trailer, you need to watch it! It's hilarious!
