Mecca Maxima Christmas Holiday Showing - 2017 {Pic Heavy}

I recently had the pleasure of attending Mecca's Holiday showing. There are some really exciting products I have a keen eye on that will be available for a limited period of time for us to shop and enjoy this holiday season!

MECCA COSMETICA

Starting off with a beautiful Lip De Luxe ($85) from Mecca Cosmetica, with 5 of the best selling shades and a lip treatment. Your lips will love you with a range of shades from everyday neutrals to beautiful brights.

MECCA MAX

There are several new holiday products releasing from Mecca Max, the pack that caught my eyes is this adorable set of nail varnish. It's Mecca Max's Party Tips Nail Tri ($40) containing 3 polishes. And if nail polish is not your thing, you will have a ball choosing from a lipgloss set and mini liquid lipsticks

TOO FACED

Too Faced is coming out with several jaw dropping sets and palettes. Pretty Little Planner ($61) is a beautiful palette that contains a bit of everything (15 shadows with a combination of shimmer and matte finishes).

Another set to keep your eyes on is Unicorn Survival Kit ($38) containing La Crème Lipstick in Unicorn Tears, Melted Latex lipstick in Unicorn Tears, highlighter in Unicorn Tears and a Unicorn Makeup Bag.

WINKY LUX

Winky Lux is a new brand to me and they have the cutest Mini Lip Pill Kit ($29) with a set of 5 mini lipsticks in pill form! It would be the best for a small handbag!

STILA

Shut the front door! Stila Christmas editions are here!!! You will find the most amazing lip and eye sets. Star Studded Eight - Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick Set ($66) contains 8 mini stay all day lipsticks and we all know how good they are!

If you are looking for eye products, Eye for Elegance - Liquid Eye Shadow Set ($66) containing 3 mini glitter and glow shadows and 3 mini shimmer and glow shadows. I swatched a glitter eyeshadow and it was a million bucks!

NARS

So much goes on with NARS every Christmas. This year is no exception. NARS is bringing out their colour collection introducing Man Ray. Expect to see beautiful bold, brights and daring colours in both lips and eyes. However you will also find some NARS stocking classics - mini lippie and blush duo ($35)

LIPSTICK QUEEN

Lipstick Queen is famous for their colour transforming lipsticks, the Mini Transformative Trio ($36) contains three mini cult favourites - Mornin' Sunshine, Frog Prince and Hello Sailor.

Alternatively there is the Frog Prince Lip and Cheek Duo ($51) containing Lipstick Queen's signature Frog Prince Lip and Cheek products.

CHANTECAILLE

The Perfect Eye Set ($140) includes a stress repair concentrate, Le stylo ultra slim liquid eyeliner in black and mascara in black. I can't help to be biased but Hourglass is probably my favourite brand in Mecca and this is one of the most anticipated launches of the year. I purchased last year's limited edition with marble case and it was one of the best choices I have made. This year, Hourglass is bringing out Ambient Lighting Edit - Volume 3 ($117) containing 6 shades, dim light, diffused light, luminous bronze light, surreal halo (new), pure effect (new) and hypnotic strobe (new).

CIATE

Ciate is coming out with their snow globe holiday edition, there will be a variety of lip ($51 for 5 best selling minis) and nail ($42 for a mini 6 piece) products in the globe . Is this the perfect present or what!

SMASHBOX

Smashbox has paired up with Ana Strumpf, an artist who transforms iconic pics into works of at with her playful sketches. I am loving all the artist collaborations. My partner is an artist and it really makes me appreciate art in a different way. Expect to see amazing palettes from NARS, including Shadow Highlight Palette ($57), Shadow Contour and Blush Palette ($61), Be Legendary Lipstick Palette ($61) and Sculpting Cheek Palette ($57).

EYEKO

Believe it or not, I actually have quite a few different products from Soap and Glory which I adore - the brand reminds me of a book I read as a child called Power and Glory and it was about a kid who plays a lot of video games (kinda sounded like me before I discovered the beach haha). Be excitedto find Soap and Glory's Lip Lip Horray! ($14) set containing 3 lippie minis and Pout-y Popper ($11) containing 2 mini glosses - perfect stocking stuffers.

KIT COSMETICS

BYREDO

Let me introduce you do Byredo's luxe new hand scrub format that is now available in Vetyver, Suede and Rose ($73), it will gently exfoliate your hands leaving them soft and supple, while sloughing away dead surface cells. DIPTYQUE

I couldn't take my eyes off this when I saw Carousel and Candle Duo ($147) as if by magic, the object will rotate thanks to the heat released by the flame, revealing a beautiful dance of light.

HOT OR NOT: MECCA MAX REVIEWED + SWATCHES + VIDEO DEMO

For the few weeks I have been using Mecca Max products on a daily basis, giving everything a solid go because I felt comfortable enough to produce this post for you guys.

I feel that the launch of Mecca Max has been a very positive occurrence for many people, especially from a financial perspective.

MECCA MAX TRIPLE THREAT FACE SHAPER POWDER $30

I have recently replaced my old bronzer/blush/highlighter trio with triple threat. The powders are encased in a beautiful metal packaging with a nice big mirror. The powders itself are not matte - I personally would prefer a matte bronzer, however the shimmer in the bronzer is fairly minimal and not quite noticeable on your face. I have been using the bronzer to contour, it seems to work fine on my light olive skin.

The highlighter is absolutely gorgeous, I've had people ask me which highlighter I am using when I wear it. The highlighter is buildable for a night time look. The blush is a rosy everyday staple that is also buildable. All three powders have a more warmer undertone with what appears to be gold shimmers. I personally feel that this powder is more geared towards those with a lighter complexion. However, you can still use this if you have a medium to light medium complexion, as the shades are all buildable.

MECCA MAX BANANA BAKE SKIN FILTER $24

This powder possess a yellow undertone which may not a good match for someone with a cooler complexion to use on it's own, but it will work fine as a light dust of finishing powder over foundation. Luckily it works great with my olive skin. I love using this product to set my under eye concealer and light dabs along my T-Zone, I feel that it does provide a filter over my skin making my skin look more even. I like this product, however I don't love it. It is however, a handy powder that is suitable for your purse.

 MECCA MAX A-LIPSTER LIQUID LIPSTICK in SKINNY LATTE $28

Skinny Latte is a beautiful shade, I have received so many compliments wearing this shade! The long flat oval applicator allows precision, I was able to apply the liquid lipstick on my lips with ease and no error!

The product is definitely long lasting, I had a really long day and the lipstick was still present after 12 hours (although I did eat fairly cautiously), the formula is lightweight with a very slight tackiness. I feel that the liquid lipstick is mildly drying after a couple of hours of wear - I would recommend a lip balm over the top, but do note that my lips are usually quite dry.

Skinny Latte as a shade is SPOT ON, however the formula may not be for everyone. It would be ideal if the formula was more moisturising to cater for us girls with drier lips. Nonetheless, I would continue to use this product.

MECCA MAX DOUBLE VISION EYE COLOUR in TUSCAN SUN $16

This eyeshadow did not appeal to me at all when I first saw it, especially since the shades are not something I would usually wear or reach for. The first time I used it was when I made the Mecca Max YouTube Video (at the end of the post). I didn't think I would like this eyeshadow so much!

The cream formula is lightweight, pigmented and easy to blend whilst the powder formula is smooth and also very pigmented. I like to layer the powder over the cream for a lasting effect. Wear time is approximately 6-7hrs, at the 8hr mark you will start to notice some creasing.

To be honest, this is probably one of my favourite products out of the lot.

 MECCA MAX OH MY MATTE MATTIFYING PRIMER $20

I don't often use matte primers, mainly because my skin is a combination of dry, dehydrated while being slightly oily around the T-Zone. I used this primer mainly on my nose to keep it matte, it did a fantastic job at keeping the oils at bay, however I just couldn't make it sit well underneath my concealer or foundation, it also felt too drying for my already dehydrated skin.

The consistency of the primer is quite thick, almost balm like, it spreads relatively well but I just cannot make it work. It's impossible for me to like and love every product I try, but I did give it a solid go over the past few weeks and decided this is just not a product for me.

MECCA MAX SHIMMER SHOT ILLUMINATING WAND in  PEARL $25

This is a stunning cream highlighter dispensed via a clickable pen with a brush on end, I was amazed by the glow it was able to create. The first time I used it I accidentally applied the cream on top of powder, which is a big no-no and created a whole lot of mess. I ensure to always use this cream highlighter on bare skin, on top of foundation or other cream products. I have been using this product directly from the tube and utilizing the brush to spread the highlighter onto my cheekbones, however for general day time work wear, I prefer to rub it onto the back of my hand, warm it up with my fingers and tap it onto my cheekbones. 

This cream formula is lightweight and non-tacky. It's buildable and great for both day and night. My tip is to be cautious when dispensing the highlighter, I often double click and more products came out than expected. To intensify the highlighter further, I recommend going over with the highlighter from triple threat, you will be GLOWING.

 MECCA MAX WINK INK LIQUID EYELINER $20

I absolutely love this dual ended eyeliner. I like to use the flat end to line most of my eyes and the fine tip to define the wings (as seen in my video). I wore this liner for a good 12 hours and it did not smudge or flake, there was a small amount of fading but the liner stayed put and in tack. The formula is quite pigmented and fast drying. Very impressed for a $20 liquid liner, definitely a hot product! 

 MECCA MAX EYE MAX POWER COUPLE MASCARA $38

This is my most anticipated product from Mecca Max's collection. I have never seen a wand so small, allowing love for all the smaller and impossible to coat or reach lashes. I have been using the larger wand for my upper lashes and the smaller wand for my lower lashes. The formula is not waterproof, if you have watery eyes, you may notice some smudges. Unfortunately this also means that the formula is unable to maintain curls - my lashes are ridiculously straight so it's not a big surprise for non-waterproof formulas. 

The smaller wand is really a life saver, I was able to create never before seen lengthy lower lashes, the degree of lash separation was jaw dropping.

I personally feel that the smaller wand makes this mascara, it's so good for those with smaller lashes or those who want to accentuate lower lashes without smearing mascara all over the place. 

It would be fantastic if Mecca is able to create a couple mascara with tubular formula, as I find those formulas to hold curls, washes off easily and unable to be smudged.

EVENT: Mecca Maxima Mecca Max Launch @ Dominik Mersch Gallery

Mecca Max had recently fulfilled every girl's dream by bringing out their very own stunning range that is also kind to our wallets (averaging $20 a pop). This out of the world party took place at Dominik Mersch Gallery, this is the first Mecca event I have ever attended and I was in makeup paradise. Before we start, I just wanted to give a special thanks to Tashi from Teacup of Makeup for taking me along to this fabulous event and of course to Mecca Maxima for hosting the evening!

As soon as we entered the venue we were instantly attracted to the gorgeous Mecca Max products sitting on display cases - oh that new makeup feel! With a phenomenal 206 products launching across makeup and base, there ought to be a product for everyone.

Mecca babes provided us with "Mecca Money" so we can head to the product shelves and purchase products we would like to take home. What happened when we ran out of Mecca Money to spend? There was a cash grab machine, similar to "Are you ready to get sticky with Mickey" in 'Matilda' but without the sticky. It was an ingenious idea, how often would you ever come across one of those in your life time?

We spent a solid few hours looking at all the new releases, awing and ahh-ing at the eye shadow palettes. There were quite a few products that had a strong hold of my attention (which I ended up taking home), including Mecca Max Triple Threat Face Shaper Cream - $30. I have always been curious to try a cream bronzer, blusher, highlighter trio and this was the perfect opportunity. This gorgeous trio is available in both powder and cream formula.

Your girl loves a good bronzer and when I saw Mecca Max Sunlit Skin Bronzing Powder - $22, I knew it was something I wanted to take home. I use bronzers all year round, after doing some excessive beach tanning as a teen, I learned the hard way and decided bronzing powder is the way to go.

Mecca Max Eye Max Power Couple Mascara - $38, made my jaw drop, it's the perfect mascara for girls with smaller lashes and is now one of Mecca Max's best seller and I am not surprised. This epic duo ended mascara comes with a standard sized wand on one end and a tiny little wand on the other. I have seen small wands in a lot of Japanese and Korean branded mascaras, however this is the first time I have come across a pocket sized mini-spoolie being sold by an Australian brand. This is such an exciting launch, whilst you get the best of both worlds, if conventional wands are too big and unable to reach your smaller or lower lashes this may possibly be your go-to. 

Beauty stations were also available for a casual or professional touch up with one of the Mecca's Makeup Artists. Below is a peak of the shopping station, this was just a small section and let me reassure you that the this area was packed the entire evening. 

I usually sign off with a food photo, but I was like a kid in a candy shop and had way too much fun playing with all the makeup that I did not get around to take a proper food photo (I know, this is a first!).  So leaving you guys with a GIF of Tashi and I holding the things we love most!
