Sydney Royal Easter Show - 2014

We had a day at the Easter Show during the Easter long weekend. We've been trying to attend annually... just so that our calenders are packed with activities, I also tend to have a thing for shows, festivals and expos. While I was at university, I'd always pick to go on a working day - now I know why it's a good idea. It was SO CROWDED!!!! Instead of Monsters VS Aliens, it was People VS Prams, small prams, big prams, double prams, empty prams and prams with two kids sitting on top of each other.

Click here to see last year's Easter Show post.

I'll show you guys the most exciting part of the day.... SHOW FOOD!

Mini cupcake - $2

Cheese on a Stick - $4.50??

Choc Banana $5

Jumbo Lemonade $6

Ribbon Fries $10

Corn Cob with seasoning $5

Fresh Oyster - Half a dozen - $9

We went through the dog pavilion.

The Psycho Sideshow - it really was PSYCHO!

Here we have the Lizard Man - Check out his tongue.

Simi. The woman with the world’s strongest hair. Yup, she's lifting a washing machine with her hair.

Aerial Manx - Swallow swords and do back flips

Space Cowboy - he caught an firing arrow whilst he was BLINDFOLDED with his bare hands!

Shep - Had a motorbike ride on top of him while laying on a bed of nails.

The Petting Zoo

The evening show: "Australia, in all it's glory"

Essentially a display of various oversized Australian objects and performers. My favourite were the dancing Vegemites.

We took a walk around the show bag pavilion and  nothing took my fancy a part from this Wagon Wheel bag - $5.

I also purchased a baggie of butter chicken spices, it's probably not the most authentic powder out there, but it's au naturale.

Did you go to the Easter show this year?

  2. Gahhh so jealous! The last time I went was when I was probably in primary school and I keep saying I'll go everywhere but something always comes up! This year I was dead with the flu. Bahhhhh! Those oysters are looking mighty good! Everyone says they taste better at the show - so it's on my to-do-list next year (hopefully ahah)!

  5. That's awesome! I'm actually very jealous of the carnival! There aren't events and road shows like that running in singapore so I'd love to attend one! And cheese on a stick sounds and looks delicious!

  8. I went on Easter Saturday with my Mum & it was nuts! Couldn't get into the Farmyard Nursery/petting zoo, there was a MASSIVE line when we walked past & neither of us wanted to wait. I think the people who normally go on Good Friday avoided it because of the royals & decided to go the next day instead...we've been going on Easter Saturday the last few years & we both agreed that this year was the busiest ever. I think the showbags this year were disappointing tbh - I only bought 1, saved my dosh for other things at the Show instead.

  9. I like the sheer number of food on sticks in your pictures! I really wanted some oysters, but I was with my vegan friend, and I didn't feel like I could make her wait while I ate them, even though she would have been fine with it!
