Empties - May 2014 - Happy Star Wars Day!

Biore Clean Things Up Nourishing Gel Cleanser
This cleanser was superb at removing all traces of makeup from my face. I quite liked this, a part from the fact that it was a little dry on my face.
Repurchase?  Maybe

L'oreal Elvive Re-Nutrition Nourishing Shampoo
A nice floral scent, but it didn't last for too long in my hair. I swear after I've used India I.C.O.N products, nothing else satisfies me.
Repurchase?  Maybe

Nair Cream Hair Remover for Sensitive Skin
This product was utterly useless... I had to grow out the hair on my legs, apply even layers with a spatula... wait for 10mins and rinse it off. Oh and not all the hair will come off either. It would've been much more practical for me to pull out my razor.
Repurchase?  No way!

Burt's Bees Anti Blemish Solutions Moisturizing Lotion
A very moisturising blemish moisturiser.. a little too thick for me. I ended up breaking out more.
Repurchase? No

You, me & everybody Skin Mousse Facial Cleanser
If you follow me on Instagram, you probably would've seen this picture:

This product was really fun, but it didn't do a very good job at cleansing. It was awful at washing away basic non-waterproof makeup. I had to use wipes after cleansing to make sure that my face was clean. The product had a funny scent (might be because it may be inflammable!). I ended up using it as a general general body cleanser.
Repurchase? No

Batiste Dry Shampoo - Cherry
Dry shampoo is growing on me, they really come in handy for the lazy greasy hair days. The smell was ok.
Repurchase? Maybe

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo
This is an anti imperfection and corrective gel. I broke out a bit lately and this product did a decent job at hydrating my face without clogging my pores or encouraging further breakouts.
Repurchase? Yes

Pevonia Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser
Great exfoliator, the beads were finely milled. Not too great as a cleanser though. This product had some trouble removing all traces of dirt and grime off my face. The scent was nice.
Repurchase? No

Maybelline Dream Mousse Shadow
I found this stashed away somewhere, I've had it for agesss and thought it was time to throw it out. From what I remember, this was an awful product. I had trouble depositing product onto my lids, it wasn't very pigmented and would crease after an hour.
Repurchase? Pretty sure it's discontinued

Prestige Skin Nude Foundation
I was amazed by this foundation. The sample lasted for a long time. It was very light weight with good coverage. The scent was quite pleasant too. It didn't dry my skin out, nor did I break out. The foundation covered all my blemishes quite well with a natural finish.
Repurchase? Yes!

Nivea Lipcare in Pink Grapefruit
To be honest, I'm not a big fan of Nivea's lip products. They don't work well with dry lips!!!
This product gave me a nice sheen but dried out within an hour. My lips were left chapped.
Repurchase? No

A few packet samples, nothing really worth mentioning other than the Aloe Vera gel. Highly recommended for burns!

  1. I saw the comic book footage on news last night but I had it on mute so I wasn't sure what was going on. I just thought maybe they'd taken Comic Con to the streets? LOL?!

I feel you about the Nair Cream Remover. I hate how you have to grow out the hair before you can use it properly. For me, I still get ingrown hair after using cream removers. I've tried just about everything! I prefer waxing but again you have to grow out the hair first. Bahhhh.

  2. Haha! Love the last picture! I had no idea that something like Free Comic Book day existed! Is there a website for it? On a side note, Prestige is one of those brands that surprises me from time to time - pretty decent stuff!

  3. I've had hits and misses with Nivea lip balms, although the one I'm using now is pretty good... I think it's in a light green tube? The Comic book day looked fun!

  12. That is a lot of products! But too bad the Nivea Lip balm didn't work for me D: I loved it, my lips were getting dry all the time and after a while using it, my lips became suuper soft! And wow, that really was a lot of comics, so lucky!

  14. I have that You, Me & Everybody mousse stuff as well and it is not a cleanser, it's a moisturiser, which is maybe why it didn't do so well as a cleanser. ;)

    1. Haha, thanks for clarifying Michelle!!! I saw it being reviewed as a cleanser on a few blogs so I automatically thought "yup, cleanser". Goodness!! I don't know how I'd feel about leaving that stuff on my face, it had such a funny... almost inflammable scent!
