Frango - Petersham

I'm incredibly stressed. I got up this morning and told my parents I don't want to do this anymore. They were very supportive and encouraging, they told me to toughen the fuck up, this is what life is all about, stick it up and get the hell on with it. We don't breed weaklings and didn't raise you to be a give upper.. hahaha, maybe not in those exact words. Tough love runs this household.

Anyway, I decided to be social and saw a friend yesterday. T and I ventured to Frango @ Petersham for a ridiculously early dinner at approximately 2.45PM. Unfortunately the kitchen wasn't open, so we ended up getting eat-in take-away food.

T just had lunch and said he wasn't hungry, but I disregarded that fact.. because when we eat we do it right, right?? I ended up ordering a whole chicken, large chips and a large greek salad. We polished it all off. Chicken was a bit dry.. no where near as great as night time service.

God, I love my mum

I love my family's subtly...

"Who was that on the phone?"

"___ She's having issues with her boyfriend"

"What about you?"

"I have no boyfriend, therefore no issues"

"You've been single for so long"

"So..I'm Picky"

"No, You know why you're single?"

"Why?"

"Because men like girly girls. You're too aggressive, too dominant, too confronting... like a MAN."

"..um.......thanks ma..."

Thank You

For the first time in my life I had someone on call for me, a friend who is honest enough to to plant my feet back on the ground. To cheer for me when I'm up, encourage me when i'm indecisive and slap me back in place when I'm in the wrong mindset. I'm so.... I can't find the word for it so i'll just say... blessed to have kept someone so worthwhile around. I can't even begin to explain how grateful I am, so here's a song. Moonlight, good times, boogie!.. minus the love bits.

Zac Efron in Sydney

Don't judge me..

He's a good looking guy. A good looking guy in a SUIT= irresistable.

Lauren is slowly conditioning me to well suited, scrubbed men. A little different from my usually taste.. but I think I might start adjusting.

Sydney Fish Market + Gelato Messina + Zumbo + Frango

"You know that weird fuzzy feeling... like nothing else in the world matters because you have that one meaningful thing and life is content?"

"Love?"

"I don't know but It happens when I eat"

Yesterday was a day of food and wallet burnin'.. that's what happens when Lauren is in town.

Sydney Fish Market via Metro Light rail - Fish Market Cafe: Lobster Platter approx $58 AUD
  • Half a Lobster mornay
  • 2x Oyster Kilpatrick
  • 2x Oyster Mornay
  • 4x prawns
  • Baby octopus
  • Calamari
  • Fries
Everything was so fresh! Mornay was cooked to perfection, right balance of mash, cream and cheese.. mmm NOMNOMOMNOM

Not too big on the kilpatrick, the bacon was over salted for me. It was alright though.

Baby octopus could have had more seasoning

Gelato Messina @ Star City via Metro Light Rail --- $5 for 2 scoops.

  • Chocolate fondant and Salted caramel&White chocolate
  • Salted caramel&White chocolate and I can't remember the other flavour... I think the guy said it was panna cotta, chocolate and turkish delight bits.
Super friendly staff, constantly helping us sample ice cream to ease our indecisiveness.
Like L said, it wasn't gelato.... it was two scoops of heaven. I can see why it's been ranked the BEST gelato in Australia. Keen to try their main shop @ Darlinghurst!

Gelato Messina Pyrmont on Urbanspoon

Zumbo @ The Star via Metro Light Rail --- $2.5 per Macaroon

  • Annunziata Chocolate
  • Salted butter caramel

Unfortunately I didn't get to take any pictures of Frango.. but OH MY GOD.... the chicken was AMAZING. I will be sure to review this next time

In addition to all that food spending.... Went to MARCS and burnt a hole my debit card.
Ended up getting this Cotton Sheen Full Skirt Shirtdress cost me an arm and a leg... well half a week's pay. FML. It's 100% silk.. I know.. I'm trying to rationalise...

Shiseido Perfect Foundation Brush Review

I first started wearing foundation because of my job a year ago. I didn't have a lot of tools so I always applied my foundation with my fingers... some times palms, that's the pivot of lazy and being late.

A few months in, I finally decided to get a brush. I got a regular foundation brush it was "OK" but streaked.

6 months ago, I was introduced to my first ever flat top foundation brush....

Holy shit. I will never apply my foundation with anything else again.

I haven't used any other flat top brushes previously, so I don't have anything to compare it to. But I am very very happy with this brush. The bristles are synthetic (smoother application) and are extremely dense so it will blend out the foundation evenly. I usually take quite a bit applying foundation and making feeble attempts to even it out... you won't have that issue with this brush. Go through it once and it's done, fast and easy! I can see why it's called "Perfect Foundation Brush now, this baby gives the perfect, none-cakey coverage!

I use this brush for my liquid foundation and powder foundation. Apparently this brush is also great for cream and stick foundation (haven't tried yet). The bristles are designed on a slight tilt so you can get the tricky parts like the edge of your nose and under eyes.

Size wise, it's quite petite but big enough to do the job! The only downside is hygiene.. because the brush is so dense particles get caught and accumulate at a rapid rate... so you'll need to clean it regularly (shedding is very very minimal, I wash it on a regular basis and have been using this brush for at least 6 months the brush is still as dense as I first got it.) This tool is never leaving my stash,  highly recommended!

RRP $30 AUD

Happy Chocolates and Rabbit Day!

Taking anti-social to a new level. Fear.
L asked me to go on facebook chat so she can send me an instant link the other night. I hesitated and finally popped on to check the links. Within 5 minutes, a new window popped up "Hey" from my fellow peer. My heart pounded in quick avoidance.

As I was on the phone to L, I gasped...
"shit"
"??"
"I'm gonna go offline.. someone is talking to me on facebook chat.... *clicks offline* that's better"
"mm someone's trying to be social"

 Anywho..
I've been extremely keen for this long weekend. 3 days off work and no uni = win! But I'll need to complete quite a few assignments and cram for anatomy... *sigh* BUT STILL GOOD :)

My plans to the fish market has been postponed to tomorrow... and I cannot wait for this... degustation at A Quarter Twenty One on the 17th, man, I live for fine dining.

Found this pic I made for a friend in my previous photobucket account. I love going through old things. Enjoy your holiday guys!

Daily Makeup Products - April 2012

I was using minimal products in my last update... well... brace yourself. I've been lazy to the max these 5.30AM morning and had to cut down my routine significantly.

1. Shiseido Sheer Matifying Foundation in I20 - This compact is actually quite dark, I've been getting some colour sitting in the sun so this was perfect. Medium coverage, with spf, great if your skin is feeling a bit down. I'll review this later!

2. MAC Blush in Breezy. Boy is this blush pigmented! I only need to gently dab my blush brush into the pot. I can't do candy cotton pink, so this warm, pink-mauve-ish shade is perfect.

3. Revlon Age Defying conealer in 02 Light-- I've had this foreverrrr and I love it. It's not cakey, heavy or chalky. Give a relatively good coverage, not ideal for deep pigmentation.

4. Blistex... need I say more?

The only thing I forgot was moisturiser.... but that's pretty much it.
