Movie Review: Love and Other Drugs

The title is self explanatory, story revolves around Love aka sex and drugs aka prescription drugs.

Boy (a Drug Rep) meets girl (except she suffers from Parkinsons) start off as a casual thing then slowly transitioned into a relationship. Go through some humps then live happily ever after. Bleak.

Jake Gyllenhaal was incredibly hot in it though. And it's incredible how many times you see Hathaway's tits. Gorgeous lead actors. Crappy movie.

Movie Review: Requiem For a Dream

A movie my friend put on the CD she burnt for me.

The trailer was interesting, let me assure you the movie was amazing.

It tells a tale of four addicts. Ellen Burnstyn, Jared Leto, Jennifer Connelly and Marlon Wayans each played an addict. Their world comes crumbling down with every injection and every pill. The depth of things people are willing to do in order to attain "satisfaction" is incredible.

A fantastic depiction of addicts, their experience and the consequences. This might be a slap across the face or a wake up call for some, a spine chilling movie for others.

I think it's a flick everyone should see.

Movie Review: Hard Candy

Again, recommended by a friend.
Possibly few of the worst movies ever. I thought it was as much of a time waster as.... i don't know..."Black Sheep" where there's an epidemic of mad sheep disease and the sheep start attacking ppl.. it wasn't as WTF as "The Human Centipede".. it was just crap.

Movie's based on paedophilia. Where a 14yr old girl meets up with a 32 yr old man, she go over to his place, suspect that he's a paedo and tortures him over the death of another girl. That's about it. The dude gets castrated though. But you'll just see some sweating.

Ellen Page really let me down on this one.

Movie Review: Ghosts of girlfriend's past

Matthew McConaughey is smooth in every single movie I've seen with him in it.

This movie was a bleak version of Click. All about not taking things for granted. Not taking love for granted, mainly, in this movie. Take a step back and think about your past, present and your future. Think of the potential scenarios that may span out based on your actions and drives.

Not a bad movie. Not hilarious though. Ok to watch.

Movie Review: Up

I finally got to see this movie.

I've heard sooooooo much hype about this film and finally gave in to a cartoon.

It was a nice little flick, melting the toughest of all hearts. You'll go on an incredible journey with Carl and Russell where perceptions will be challenged and changed.

I enjoyed the storyline, the faith in friendship and partnership

I thought it was a good film, but not a great film.

Movie Review: Closer

This was recommended by a friend.

I enjoyed this thoroughly. I love how realistic this movie is. It's a tale of love, deception, lies and everything else with the exception of a happy ending.
Jude Law was great in this film, an asshole. As gorgeous as he is I can't imagine him to deviate from his character much.

Natalie Portman, what can I say.. I'm stunned. She was sophisticated and turned her ordinary role extrodinary.

Julia Roberts and Clive Owen are beings of many talents, their emotions are raw.

This movie is a an excellent reminder and portrayals of ex boyfriends. Pathetic.

Movie Review: Stardust

I had low expectations for this movie.

When i saw the ad on tv I was pretty apathetic. There was nothing to do on a Saturday night so this movie was a force fed.

I thought this was a "kiddie" movie, i couldn't believe how fantastic the plot is. I'm usually not too into fantasy movies, i never really got into harry potter or narnia (i love CS Lewis' books though, just not the film).

This movie is about trying to get what you want but in the process of that, finding your true love. Very much a romantic fantasy. Boy seek the hand of his lover by retriving a fallen star on the other side of the forbidden down wall. Let me just say it's full of surprises.

Robert DeNiro was a kicker in this movie.

Cute movie.

I really enjoyed this.

Movie Review: Shortbus

My friend recommended this movie to me in disgust. In fact, she didn't recommend it to me. It was more of a diplomatic way of saying "There's this *disturbing* film called Shortbus"--- and that she felt nauseating during the group orgy scene.

Take a look at the picture above and you'd know that this isn't your average friday night movie. Heterosexual, Bisexual, Homosexual, Transexual, Sexual, Sexual, Sexual...definitely sexually diverse.

An explicit film with a gutsy opening scene of sadism, auto-fellatio and 100% real sex scenes. I was pretty shocked seeing all that 5minutes into the movie. but the producer was incredibly intelligent for exhibiting the most intimate scenes at the very beginning of the movie, why? because viewers get desensitised. The most important aspects of a movie, book, article, or even a situation is the beginning and the end.

I can assure you that this movie started with a BOOM and ended with a BAM.

Another thing, the cinematography was incredible.

If you dig deeper and seep beyond the fornication you'd see a flip side to this film, I loved how realistic it was, unlike major hollywood flicks...ongoing predictable plotline. Instead of the movie driving you, you were driving the movie because you'd know exactly what would happen.

Not with Shortbus, because Shortbus will drive you.

This film plucks at the core issues lying within every individual, whether it's personal, relationship, or social issues ...no matter how different you may think you are to the person across the road from you, they'd most likely to be experiencing , experienced or will soon to cross paths with the very emotional rollercoaster you're encounting.

Before I watched Shortbus, i read a summary and was almost certain it'll be a film that's something short of being borderline pornographic. I was surprised to find so much more. Although I haven't seen anything this explicit but this is definitely the "dark" film that touch basis with reality. I guess people were so afraid of having reality reflected at them so they banned this movie in several countries.

Not recommended for the faint hearted.

"Watch it if you can handle it, and if you can't... prehaps you should ask yourself why."
